UNIQUE BURNER DESIGNS:
There are two absolutely necessary parameters that Wale tried to adhere to when building this burner:
It was necessary to keep the outside diameter of the barrel as small as possible to allow it to fit into the larger series of burners we are coming out with.
The barrel must be kept cool to protect the inside of the burner.
We found out very early in the development that the best way to keep the burner cool is to use very thin walls as opposed to heavy castings or machined parts that only serve as limited heat sinks. This allows the operating gases to cool the barrel as they pass thru.
This should explain why the barrel of the "Firebird" looks similar to competitive burners. The size and shape of the "Firebird" barrel were caused by the nature of our design and not copied from anything.
One more similarity is the position of the valves, this one is quite simple, that is where several flameworkers asked us to put them.

There are a few more internal features that we are not a liberty to discuss.

The "Minor" Bench Burner is a small stainless steel surface mix bench burner which supplies flames up to 3Ú4" diameter. The "Minor" Bench Burner features easy tilt positioning, precision needle valves to regulate the fuel and oxygen flow. The valve bodies can be rotated to suit the operator. The "Minor" Bench Burner is the same as the small burner mounted on the #925 "Major" Bench Burner. The narrow head allows easy manipulation of glass work. This burner will work up to 45mm borosilicate glass tubing. The burner can be easily removed from the heavy base for use as a hand torch or lathe burner. This burner is the ultimate burner for working with Moretti Effetre soft glass used in Beadmaking and Marblemaking.
The "Major" Bench Burner is a sturdy stainless steel surface mix bench burner with a pre-mix tip mounted on top. The pre-mix tip replaces the normal center fire. The "Major" Bench Burner supplies flames up to 1 1Ú2" diameter with the large burner and up to 3Ú4" diameter with the small burner. The "Major" Bench Burner features precision needle valves to regulate the flow of fuel and oxygen to both "Major" and pre-mix tip assemblies. The valve bodies can be rotated to suit the operator. The narrow head of the pre-mix tip assembly allows easy manipulation of work. The "Major" Bench Burner is easily removed from the heavy base for mounting on lathes. It also features easy tilt positioning, and easy dismantling for cleaning or replacement of parts.
